Ontario Sunshine List 2025: the report
What changed from 2024 to 2025, computed from the official files and checked against the publisher’s row counts. Nothing here is written by hand but the sentences around the figures.
In short
- 404,922 people were paid $100,000 or more in 2025, up 7.2% from 377,881 in 2024.
- The median salary on the list was $122,262, down 2.5% on 2024; prices in Ontario rose 1.9% over the same time. The line stays put while pay rises, so the median also moves as people cross it: it is not anyone’s raise.
- 70,395 people were new to the list.
- Pay on the list added up to $54.4B, up 8.6% on 2024.
- Had the $100,000 line followed prices since 1996, it would be $184,702 in 2025; 30,285 people were paid more than that.
- Municipalities & Services added the most people: 16,032 more than in 2024.
